Simrose is reopening tomorrow in a new location!

As many of you know, Simrose relocated a few months ago (we’re now on the south side of Agonda Beach – check us out on Google Maps). We’re very excited about our reopening tomorrow, October 1st! While it was sad to leave our previous location, it also brought a sense of relief due to the long-standing challenges with our former landlord. Although the decision to relocate was not ours, it has allowed us to move forward. We, Binesh Thapa and Prashant Kankonkar, have been nurturing Simrose for almost two decades. We’ve poured time, money, creativity, and energy into building Simrose, both on the ground and online. Each season, we brought something new – upgrades, new ideas, and a growing online presence on social media, reservation platforms, and of course, Google and Tripadvisor. While we were leaving the old location, the former landlord demanded that we hand over all our online handles and listings. Naturally, we refused, as he didn’t create them nor did he contribute to grow them in any way. We’ve had the Simrose business since 2006, with our website www.simrose-goa.com up since 2010, Facebook since 2010, Instagram since 2013, and X (formerly Twitter) since 2014. But according to the former landlord, just because he and his mother leased us the land, he’s entitled to everything… Our former landlord managed to temporarily move our Google business location pin – thankfully, we were able to move it back. He tried to grab our Google business profile as well. And he’s been contacting reservation platforms, telling them we’re out of business and that all listings should be transferred to him. We can only apologize for any confusion this has caused. We incorporated Simrose Resorts Private Limited in 2015 and officially trademarked our Simrose trading name in April 2022. We are now so excited to welcome you all to our new, even nicer location, despite all the unnecessary confusion that has occurred. We’re also incredibly grateful to the staff who have stayed loyal to us for all these years and who many of you have come to know well, including Malika, Manish, Ajay (Rishi Kumar), Rohit, Rupesh, Deepak, Anusha, Shanti, Ranjana, Shyam, Sudip, Rina, Sandhya, Naveen and Maharaj. If you have any questions, don’t hesitate to reach out to us at info@simrose-goa.com. Thank you for your understanding and continued support as we prepare for the new season.

Yoga – for glowing skin and healthy digestive system

Yoga secrets to unlock glowing skin Flexibility and stress relief are among the most popular reasons for practicing yoga. However, as many people continue to engage in the art, they find that there are many hidden benefits as well, especially when done in areas that promote soul and skin healing such as the salty waters of a beach. Yoga has multiple health benefits for your mind and body and so does ocean air, but they’ve both also been known to improve the health of your skin while leaving you with a glow you won’t be able to find in a store-bought serum or skin cream. By working to clear your skin of toxins while increasing the oxygen you receive throughout your whole body, yoga is nature’s skincare secret that you’re about to unlock. Promoting blood flow and circulation to the face One of the key components of healthy skin is healthy circulation, especially in your face. As yoga requires you to engage in deep breathing, it is naturally beneficial in this way, but there are certain poses that you can do to increase the effects. Sarvangasana, or the shoulder stand, is one of the most effective poses for glowing skin, as it promotes blood circulation to your face and can rid your skin of pimples, acne, wrinkles and dullness. Utthanasana can be used for a similar effect as it is a forward-bending pose that promotes blood flow to the face and increases oxygen supply to the skin cells. The nature of the pose also helps your body receive helpful nutrients that fight the damage caused by free radicals. Sorting out your digestive system When your digestive system can’t properly process or eliminate toxins, it will try to push them out in other areas of your body. This is why your skin often suffers when you are engaging in poor eating habits. Yoga is great for relaxing the digestive system, which will help you clear the toxins in your body and therefore clear up your skin. To accomplish this, engage in any seated twisting pose, such as Bharadvaja’s twist, which will help relax your digestive tract and free up toxins and other harmful substances from your body. Pavanamuktasana will have similar effects and has been noted to be the best for improving digestion and relieving constipation, which in turn reduces acne and pimples on the face. Releasing all of life’s stresses There’s no doubt that stress can cause your skin to break out. Seeing as stress relief is the top reason that people practice yoga, there are many poses that can benefit you in this regard, but it is really the deep, meditative breathing that will have the biggest effect on your stress levels and skin quality. In this case, there’s no magic pose that will lead to healthier skin, but rather the focused, intentional breaths that you take while practicing yoga that will allow you to release all of your stress and in turn benefit from healthy, glowing skin and a cleared head. To increase these stress-relieving effects, you can perform yoga by the beach. Due to the fresh ocean air, calming sounds of the waves, and the ample amounts of Vitamin D you’ll receive, beach yoga is great for your soul and skin. Experience a healthy glow year-round While it certainly helps to be out in the sun enjoying a resort-style vacation, you can experience a healthy glow year-round by using yoga in order to rid your body of toxins that lead to certain skin problems. A healthy mind and body lead to healthy skin, and yoga will leave you feeling stretched, de-stressed, and oxygenated in order to produce glowing skin that you’ll love to show off during and even after your vacation.
Boosting Your Brainpower With Yoga

There’s no doubt that yoga offers a whole host of physical benefits, from increased flexibility to stronger muscles. It can even help you to maintain a healthy weight, no matter what your age. What many people don’t know, however, is that regular yoga sessions are also beneficial to your mental health. Beyond connecting you with your spiritual self, yoga has also been proven to improve focus and mental clarity. Here are just a couple of ways that yoga and yoga retreats can help boost your brainpower. Reduce Stress Levels Feeling stressed can make it tough to think straight. Stress tends to invade our entire being, mind, body, and soul, sapping our energy and our focus. It can compromise our immune system and make us more prone to inflammation, leading to discomfort and even depression. Eliminating stress can help you to clear your mind and concentrate on the important things in life. Yoga and meditation sessions can both help you to lower your stress levels and sharpen your mind. People who suffer from anxiety or depression can also practice yoga to alleviate negative symptoms and improve their mood. Increase Alertness and Concentration The next time that you need to ace that big test or wow your boss in an afternoon meeting, skip the coffee and the energy drinks. Regular yoga sessions can improve your focus, helping you to stay sharp throughout the day. You won’t have to worry about crashing around two like you would with a morning coffee. Even just a short 20-minute workout can get the blood flowing and the brain working at full capacity. If you don’t have time for a morning yoga session before work or school, you can always squeeze in a quick lunchtime workout to improve your performance during the day. Improve Memory As we age, we inevitably experience some level of cognitive decline starting as early as our 20s. This includes a loss of abstract reasoning skills, brain speed, and memory. Cognitive issues beginning early in adulthood may also signal a risk of developing dementia later in life. Staying active is one of the best ways to combat age-related cognitive decline. Yoga can help both young and old adults to improve their recall skills and boost both short- and long-term memory. Yoga not only strengthens the body but also the mind. Regular yoga sessions can help you to boost your brainpower through decreased stress levels and increased focus. By practicing yoga, you work towards improving your performance at school, in the office, or at home.

Simrose: A Vacation for Mind, Body, and Soul

The sun shining down your back and the sand between your toes – what more could you ask for? Well how about all of that plus privacy, serenity, and a cleansing of the soul? At Simrose resort you not only get a relaxing vacation on the beach, but you also get a chance to take a journey through your mind, body, and soul. Here are the ways that Simrose can help you to feel more at one with those three elements. Clear the Mind The water that will surround you at Simrose will help you refresh your brain for a longer, healthier life. Our brains are 75 percent water and filled with clear cerebrospinal fluids. Therefore, our brains react positively to the mere sight of water. Throughout our lives we are saturated with positive ions that emit from electronic appliances. When we get too many positive ions, our brains become unbalanced. However, water provides negative ions that increase oxygen absorption and helps our mind heal. Balanced ions also increase levels of serotonin to help regulate our mood. Soothe Your Body A well-balanced spiritual journey beginning at any of the world’s holistic retreats takes into consideration the body as well as the mind. At Simrose you can opt for variety of massages, be it a Thai yoga massage which works to find balance throughout the five energies in our body – physical, life energy, mental, awareness, and cosmic. Or traditional Ayurdvedic massages – famous Indian massages with different types of herbal oils which help your body to refresh and expel toxins from it. Besides these you can treat your body with hot stone massage, lymphatic drainage and other massages. To feel even better and healthier you can try out a Special Herbal Facial to clean your face and to have glowing skin. Or give your nails and toe nails not just beautiful, but also healthy looks with manicure and pedicure. Holidays are a perfect time to pamper yourself! If you wish to get a little bit more active you are welcome to join daily pilates ball exercise. It will challenge your muscles, helping to strengthen and build up the core muscles of your body, such as the abdominals, back, buttocks & thighs. Balance Your Soul Yoga as many know is not only simple physical exercise; it’s something for your soul too. We are offering a variety of drop in classes for hatha yoga, chakra balancing, Yin yoga, pranayama and meditation. So your holidays can be filled with not only sun and fun, but also with spirituality for which is so difficult to find time back at home. Besides daily yoga practices, this season Simrose is again hosting Yoga and AcroYoga retreat organised by YogaJoya and AcroYogaShanti. A seven-day retreat allows you to focus on everything you need to balance your mind, body, and soul. In the morning, you will participate in a classic hatha yoga session to warm up the body and focus the mind. Then you can explore different acro yoga sessions based on your experience level, and heal the wellbeing through a journey of therapeutic flight. Through the flight you will release negative energy and free the body and mind from tensions. At the end of your seven days of activities, you will become a balanced individual, exploring the capabilities of your mind, body, and soul. So during your stay at Simrose you have a chance to achieve all elements of a perfect spiritual retreat. You will clear your mind, soothe your body, and obtain the colours of your soul.
